Amanda is a Veterinary Receptionist who has worked full-time at our Kirkland location since August of 2020. She is in the process of obtaining her Veterinary Medication Clerk License and she came to us with previous experience in the veterinary field. She began a veterinary technology program in the past that she intends to continue in the future to further her education in the field and complete her degree to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She enjoys being able to help sick and injured pets as well as helping their owners learn how to best care for them. She says that knowing she is helping people and their furry family members makes all of the hard work worth it!
She loves continuing to learn about new aspects of veterinary medicine and particularly enjoys learning more about zoological animal medicine as well as exotic and large animal medicine. She loves seeing all the different types of pets who come into our practice. She also takes a special interest in veterinary behavioral medicine, especially dog training.
Amanda grew up in the Portland area before moving to Arkansas at the age of 10. She moved back to the Pacific Northwest in 2020 and says she couldn’t be happier to be back home! Outside of work, she loves to travel, cook, and spend time in nature, especially with her dog Shifty who is always excited for their next adventure. She also has a dog named Amelia. Along with obtaining her Veterinary Technician license in the future, she hopes to eventually help people by working to train service dogs. She says that so long as she is working with animals and helping people, she is happy.
