Emily has been with Northwest Animal Eye Specialists since Spring of 2015 when she started as a receptionist at the Kirkland location. She has since become the Lead Receptionist and now Office Manager. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Western Washington University and her Veterinary Medication Clerk certification. She was drawn to the veterinary industry for the animals but opted for ophthalmology over general practice because she loved the idea of blind pets having their vision restored and, as a bonus, she enjoys the fact that we do not have to handle euthanasia. One of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing a previously blind pet have its vision restored and seeing how happy the owners are. She also takes great pleasure in seeing the exotic species that come into the clinic and takes a special interest in any falcons and reptiles that come in for exams.
Emily is a Washington native but moved to the Seattle area in 2015. She enjoys exploring the various museums, restaurants, and fun things to do in the area. At home, she shares her life with a 10 year old Corgi/Aussie/Sheltie mix named Gizmo, a 3 year old Crested Gecko named Toaster, a 60 gallon aquarium full of many species of fish, and her husband Forrest. In her spare time, she enjoys fishkeeping, antiquing, hanging out with Gizmo, and working on their house.
